Mr. Mike Anderson is serving as ACA's Middle School Principal. Mr. Anderson was born and raised in Henderson, TN and graduated from Chester County High School. He graduated with his Bachelor's Degree in Education from Freed Hardeman in 1992. In 1996, he completed his Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and Administration. Mr. Anderson has spent the past 21 years in education. He has served as a Math Teacher, Assistant Principal, Athletic Director and Coach. He is married to Eileen Anderson and they have 2 sons and 2 grandchildren.

Kathryn Bandy

Kathryn joins us as the PR/Marketing Director. Kathryn and her husband David are graduates of ACA. Kathryn's bachelor’s degree is from The University of South Alabama. Since her graduation from USA she has been employed with the university's admissions office as a regional admissions officer. Kathryn was an active ACA student and looks forward to working at her alma mater. Kathryn also coaches JH/JV cheer.

Jody Barr holds the position of learning designer. He has either taught or supported learning in K-12 private, public charter, and international schools as well as a foreign university.  He obtained his Master’s degree from Penn State University in Learning, Design and Technology. Jody is married to Wei and they have two girls, Abby and Amelia.

Luz Beard is looking forward to her new role as the art teacher for ACA! She has been in the art world since 1994 when she decided to study art in college. Her journey began at Tyler Junior College earning her Associate degree in Fine Arts and continued studying at Lubbock Christian University where she earned her Bachelor of Visual Communications. She has taught art in East Texas, as well as at an international school in Rwanda, Central/East Africa, where she and her family lived and served as vocational missionaries. Luz is blessed to be married 18 years to Kyle Beard (Head Men's Soccer coach at Faulkner University). She loves and cherishes her family time with him and their two wonderful children: Koen (14 yrs.) and Heaven (11 yrs.)

Originally from Pensacola, Florida, Ms. Bell moved to Montgomery in 2010 to attend Faulkner University. She spent four years as a member of the Women’s basketball team and graduated in 2014 with a Bachelors of Science in Biology.  This is her first year in teaching and she feels very lucky to be able to be the elementary art aid, pre-K aid, JV softball, and girls’ basketball coach. She is working towards completing her Masters in Education from Faulkner University to teach secondary sciences in the future.

Mr. Doug Black, though born and raised in a small town in Ohio, found his way to Alabama Christian Academy. He received his Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education in 1990 and his Master's degree in Elementary Administration in 1991 from Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas. He taught two years in the Montgomery Public Schools and afterwards, joined the ACA family in 1993 teaching 4th grade for 16 years. During the 2010-11 school year, Mr. Black served as the guidance leader and assistant principal of the elementary school. In June 2011, he became the elementary principal. He has two sons who attend ACA.

Janet Brolund is originally from Mobile, AL. She received her B.S. in Elementary Education from Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN. She later earned her Master’s Degree from Troy University, Montgomery. She has taught in Opelika, Lee County, St. Louis, MO, and in Montgomery. She has three children, all of whom graduated from ACA and she is the very proud grandmamma to three beautiful little grandchildren, two of which live in Franklin, TN, and one here in Montgomery. Ms. Brolund "graduated" to the second grade after having taught first grade at Alabama Christian for eight years. She feels blessed to be beginning her 17th year there and truly loves her job. “Ms. B” is dedicated to the children she teaches and feels that it is essential for learning to be a positive and joyful experience. She loves to laugh with her class and especially enjoys using music and movement, along with technology throughout the day. One of Ms. Brolund’s passions is to help her children become more aware of God’s love for them through nature and through all of His amazing creations. I graduated from Faulkner University in 1984 with a degree in physical education.  I received my Master's degree in Counseling from AUM in 1990.  I was a teacher and counselor at Holtville High school for 15 years and then elementary counselor at Dalraida elementary for 15 years.  I retired from public school in 2014 and went to work at Faulkner University as Director of the adult education program.  I am excited to be back at ACA.  I have two children that graduated from ACA:  Savannah 2010 and Mason 2012.  My dad was also principal at ACA for me years, so this feels like home.  My husband, Billy, works in the advancement department at Faulkner University.  I enjoy running, spending time with my kids and binge watching "netflix".  I am a member of the Landmark Church of Christ.

This year will begin my 30th year of teaching! I have taught elementary school in Dothan, Alabama, Clinton, Mississippi, and just retired from Montgomery public schools. I have a bachelors degree from Auburn University and a masters from Troy University. During my teaching career I have been honored with the Golden Apple award, Wynnton Blount Elementary teacher of the year award, Montgomery County Elementary Teacher of the year award, and RBC Outstanding Teacher recipient award. My husband James and I have two children. Our son Jim,24, is engaged, works for Fourstar Freight Liner, and is a member of a Christian Hip Hop group called Life Through Colors. Our daughter Katie, 11, enjoys playing softball and will be a sixth grader at ACA. We are very active at Eastern Hills Baptist Church. I am so excited and blessed to be a member of the ACA family and look forward to a fantastic year!

Page Clayton graduated from Faulkner University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies and an emphasis in Youth and Family Ministry. Page played baseball while attending Faulkner University. He is from Birmingham, Alabama, where he attended Shades Valley High School. At Alabama Christian Academy, Mr. Clayton is teaching 9th and 10th grade Bible. Mr. Clayton is married to Mary Beth Clayton who teaches at Brewbaker Technology Magnet High School. They are currently in the process of adoping through AGAPE here in Montgomery.
