Bio

Mrs. Solar teaches Geometry and Finite classes at ACA and is the Math Department Chair.  She started teaching at ACA in 2009 after having taught math in the public school systems of Mobile, AL, Panama City, FL, and Houma, LA.  She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Math Education from the University of Mobile and her Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from York University. 

Mrs. Solar is married to Rick Solar who is also a teacher and a coach at ACA.  They have three children, Ricky, Savannah, and Reece, all of whom attended and graduated from ACA, and two daughter-in-laws, Susanna and Lauren. Away from school she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, playing golf, playing pickleball, working out, and reading. She considers the opportunity to teach at ACA with the other wonderful teachers and administrators to be a special blessing.
